Oh My...

Dolls Resembling Daughters Displease First Lady

Apparently now you can get Sasha and Malia in Beanie Baby form, but oh, not really. Where is the line drawn between treating the Obamas as the First Family versus run-of-the-mill celebrities? Or is this not possible?

For those dying of curiousity...

Yes, the Chia Obama mentioned in Thursday's meeting. In the flesh, derr...terra cotta. Whatever. In two faces!

For Glenna

I saw this on another blog. It's not the same idea at all, but thought you'd want to check it out!

Hommin Studio

Isophone, for Evan.

I think the Isophone project is about communication, intimacy. I posted it up here so others could check it out. Let me know what you think.

Windows 2003???

The Obama team finds that the White House is not....Mac-friendly. Nor laptop-friendly. The "technological dark ages!"

America starts to sober up from a heavy dose of Obamamania

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/world/us_and_americas/us_elections/article3428110.ece

Strangely enough, this article came out almost a year ago now (time flies so fast...) Whether its reflections held true within the year's timespan is up to debate but it's worth musing about.

The following snippet sums it up:

Mathew Honan set up a website called www.barackobamaisyournewbicycle.com after his wife, Harper, a nurse and avid cyclist, began exhibiting symptoms of “Obamamania”.

In less than two weeks, there have been more than 2.3 million visits to the minimalist site, which carries messages such as: “Barack Obama escorted your Gramma across the street”; “Barack Obama baked you a pie”; “Barack Obama dedicated a song to you”; “Barack Obama carries a picture of you in his wallet”; and “Barack Obama remembered your birthday”.

A Ball for Every(wo)man

The Obamas want to dance with their DC neighbors, powerful or not.

The Aesthetics of Economic Collapse

From a New-York-centric view, of course. The video at the end is nice - how do you answer what you want out of a day, much less an era?

Wait, more locations here. First post of 2009!
